A boy who gained national attention for rescuing two black bears from a rundown Roseville zoo more than two decades ago has now written a book about that experience. Justin Barker is all grown up now and hoping to inspire the next "Bear Boy", the name of his new book.
In the mid-1990s, Barker made it his mission to move two bear siblings out of Roseville's Royer Park Zoo, and it was a daunting job.
Brutus and Ursula had spent 20 years in that zoo. The cages were small, the floor was concrete and often damp, and the zoo flooded so severely the bears repeatedly had to be rescued
